Parent Council

Parents and Families

Butler University faculty and staff are here for your students, but students also need the support of their families to complete a great college experience. The Office of New Student and Family Programs is a resource for parents and families and provides information to assist you in guiding your student through this important stage in life. Throughout your student's university experience we will keep you connected with informational updates, volunteer opportunities, and occasions for you to connect with the Butler community both in Indianapolis and across the country.

All parents are automatically members of our Family Association. Campus news, information, and updates are distributed to parents through the Parent NewsFlash email newsletter. Please also visit the Butler Parent Facebook page, and update your contact information to ensure that you receive the latest parent communications.

Family Association

Family members of every Butler student automatically become members of the Family Association. Through this organization, families are invited to share and support their student's university experience.

Family Weekend

Family Weekend is November 8–10, 2019!

Family Guide

This online resource details campus offices, including contact names and phone numbers. It will serve as a great reference for you throughout the year.

Parent Council

The Parent Council is an advisory board made up of current Butler families. It is an excellent way to stay involved with the University and represent Butler in your community during your student's university experiences. Learn more about the Council and member responsibilities.

Commencement

Visit our Commencement website for information about Commencement. Dates, times, locations, where to stay, and where to park can all be found on this helpful resource. Can’t make it to the ceremony? There’s even a link to watch the event live online.

Support Butler

Tuition simply doesn’t cover the cost of educating each Butler student—the University relies on annual support through gifts from alumni, parents, and friends. Gifts from current and past parents support numerous activities and areas on campus such as the Visiting Writers Series, laboratory equipment, business community outreach programs, and the Butler Student Emergency Fund. Butler offers a wide variety of ways to give, and parents give at all levels.
