Tuition & Costs

When we believe in someone, we invest in them.

Our faculty, staff, and students raise each Bulldog to do their very best work. Ask a Butler student and they’ll say that faculty know them and believe in them to succeed. And succeed they do. Ninety-eight percent of Bulldogs are employed or attending graduate school within six months of graduation, and the median starting salary among new Butler grads is $62,034.

Cost of Attendance

When we talk about college costs, we split them into two buckets: direct and indirect costs.

Butler sets direct costs—the tuition, room, board, and fees paid by students.

Indirect costs include things such as books, supplies, costs to get to and from campus, and other items (like tickets to watch the Pacers, or an afternoon at Newfields).

The standard full-time undergraduate student budget used to determine financial aid eligibility is outlined below. For more information about undergraduate, graduate, and part-time tuition rates, please see the complete fee schedule available from the Office of Student Accounts.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Scholarships are offered to students who display academic excellence or promise in the performing arts or athletics. Need-based financial aid depends on your family’s ability to contribute to your tuition, as determined by the FAFSA.
