Religious Observances & Accommodations

Butler University is committed to supporting students in observing the practices and holidays of their religious and spiritual traditions.

Religious observances may sometimes conflict with classes, examinations, assignments, campus events, performances, travel, meetings, or other required experiences. The Compass Center provides guidance to help students, faculty, staff, and campus partners navigate these situations with thoughtful planning, flexibility, and mutual respect.

Religious Observance Calendar, Accommodation Guide, and Policy

The annual guide brings together Butler’s Religious Holiday Accommodation Policy, a calendar of major religious observances represented within our community, and practical guidance for students, faculty, staff, and event planners.
