Mathematics & Engineering Dual Degree
In this five-year dual-degree program, you can earn both a Butler mathematics degree and a Purdue University engineering degree. Choose from six different engineering paths, with courses offered at the nearby Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus.
Mathematics & Education Majors
The Mathematics and Education major prepares you to teach at both middle and high school levels. For more than 10 years, candidates in this major have achieved a 100% job placement.
Research Camp
During our eight-day Butler Mathematics Research Camp, students work independently and with faculty to develop research questions and proofs, gaining a feel for the rigor of mathematical graduate studies.
J. James Woods Lectures
The Woods Lecture Series brings prominent mathematicians and scientists to Butler in order to speak on theories at the frontier of their disciplines, as well as on related technologies and other issues of public concern.
Faculty Spotlight
Dr.Jayasekare is the current Director of the Statistics and Actuarial Science programs. She was a key faculty member in the development of the data science minor and the statistics major. She is also a key contributor to the Masters in Data Analytics program. She was the recipient of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Outstanding Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2020.
