Bulldog Jog Sponsorship

Sponsorship for Scholarship

Proceeds from the Bulldog Jog are to benefit the Butler University Recreation Student Professional Development Fund. This Student Professional Development Fund is used to help pay for student employees to attend various workshops, conferences, and certification programs, related to the Recreational Sports field.

Events such as the Indiana Recreational Sports Association’s annual workshop, the National Intramural – Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Region III’s Student Lead-On Conference, and the annual NIRSA Conference, all require registration fees that can be overwhelming. We believe in doing our best to make sure students who have an interest in learning should not be prevented from doing so due to cost.

Not only do these opportunities help the students determine a potential career path or give them invaluable experience in attending a professional event, but the knowledge gained helps make our own department that much better.

Indy Runners is also adding a Benefit to support club Giving Back Programs; most notable is their Erika Wells Memorial Scholarship fund for high school students entering college who have seen a positive influence from running in their lives or used running to make a difference in their community. Their namesake, Erika Wells, was a beloved Indy Runners club member who tragically passed away in October 2016. Her dedication to service, personal growth, social engagement, and an overall use of running as part of a healthy lifestyle and a way to help support community were unparalleled and a true gift to their club. Their scholarship was renamed in her memory to keep her legacy alive and growing through students who share these same qualities.
