Race Day Information
Start times: 8:00 AM for 5k/10k; 8:15 AM for Dawg Walk
We continue to do our best to put on safe events in our ongoing COVID world. We should have much more relaxed protocols for the Spring, but please keep an eye out for any changes. And please continue to stay safe out there and look out for each other.

Race Day packet pick up and Race Day registration are available at the Butler HRC from 6:00–7:30 AM. Masks are required.
We strongly recommend picking up your packet on Friday evening to help make race morning more smooth.
- No rollerblades, bicycles, strollers, or pets allowed on the 5k/10k course.
- All dog participants must be kept on a leash during the walk.
- Dogs are not allowed on the football field.
- It’s your responsibility to clean up after your dog—please do so!
Free parking is available in the Hinkle Fieldhouse lot and parking garage off Sunset Boulevard.
Volunteer parking will be reserved in the Hinkle Lot closest to Gate 1 and the HRC.
We encourage those who need to leave a bit earlier after the race to use the Hinkle Lot, and those who plan to stay a bit for our post-race fun to park in the garage.
The Butler University campus map can serve as an additional resource as well.
5k course
Our new 5k course showcases Butler’s new South Campus with a turn-around through the driveway of the Counseling Center and returning through campus with a strong finishing stretch up Sunset Avenue.
Dawg Walk (8:15 AM start)
The Dawg Walk will provide a nice tour of campus for participants and their 4-legged companions. We are pleased to donate a portion of the proceeds to our partners at the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
This is a family event. Non-motorized strollers, wagons, carts, and carriers are permitted, but participants are asked to be mindful of other two-legged and four-legged walkers. If your dog needs to take a pit stop, please clean up after them!
15k Route (Will return in 2024)
5k and 15k will start together through Campus to the Counseling Center. The 5k flips back while the 15k route continues to Michigan and north to Cold Spring. We follow Cold Spring south to the Wapahani Walking Path along the River to 30th. Then reverse course north through Newfields grounds and finish as the 5k does back through Campus and a strong finish coming up Sunset Avenue.
In order to accommodate the run/walk, campus traffic patterns and parking will be affected race morning. There will be no parking allowed at the following locations:
- Sunset from 49th to 46th
- Sunset and Lake Road
- Clarendon west and 46th street
- Clarendon and Hampton
- 44th and Haughey
- Haughey and 42nd street
- 42nd and Michigan
Any vehicle parked in violation of the no parking restriction will be towed at the owner’s expense. Vehicles will be towed starting at 4:00 AM on the date of the event.
