Dog Walk
The Bulldog Jog lives up to its name by allowing the whole family to participate…even the four-legged children.
Official Butler University mascot, Blue, is proud to serve as grand marshall for the Bulldog Jog Dog Walk.
Blue also encourages canine participants to bring items and supplies for his friends at the Indiana Bulldog Rescue and the Humane Society of Indianapolis to assist in the care of dogs much less fortunate.
Course
This is a family event, so all members of the family are welcome to accompany your dog on course. The course is also open to strollers and wagons for both the human and canine members of the family. Those using strollers and wagons are asked to be mindful of others sharing the course.
Butler takes great pride in it’s campus and neighboring community, so If your dog needs to take a pit stop along the route, please be prepared to clean up after them!
Doggy Details
Dogs are not allowed in the HRC and dog owners will be asked to remain with their pet outside, at all times. Dogs are not allowed on the football field, but can be on the grassy area by the south end. Plan accordingly for the weather and conditions to make sure that both you and your dog are prepared and comfortable. Likewise, all dogs should remain on a leash and restrained at all times.
Butler takes great pride in its campus and the surrounding neighborhood, so please come prepared to clean up after your dog should they need to relieve themselves.
Strollers and wagons for both the human and canine members of the family are permitted both on the grounds and on the Dog Walk course. Those using strollers and wagons are asked to be mindful of others sharing the course.
Event Logistics
Please remember to consult our parking, road closures, and weather information prior to loading your dog and heading toward campus.
Bulldogs to the Rescue
Official Butler University mascot, Blue, isn’t just lending his celebrity to serve as Grand Marshal of the inaugural Bulldog Jog Dog Walk, but he is also on a mission to help those dogs less fortunate.
Blue is asking that all Bulldog Jog participants join him in bringing various goods to benefit the Indiana Bulldog Rescue and Humane Society of Indianapolis and the pooches they serve. In exchange for your generosity, Blue is offering up a personalized autographed picture.
Bring in the Goods
For an idea of just some of the things Blue will be collecting for fellow canines, see below:
- New or gently used small blankets or throws
- Crates
- Harnesses
- Leashes
- Dog beds (new or gently used in clean and in good condition)
- Toys and chews
- Shampoo
- Dog food and treats (preferably grain free)
Both the Indiana Bulldog Rescue and Humane Society of Indianapolis have detailed lists of needed items. Please check their lists to see what you can contribute to their causes. You just might have a few things lying around the house!
Located outside the HRC and near the registration tables, Blue will be camped out next to donation boxes and awaiting your gifts prior to the start of the Dog Walk. Stop by, say hello.
