Complete Online Orientation Modules
Prior to a student’s orientation period, all new students must complete a series of online Orientation modules. These modules include academic resources; campus life resources; diversity, equity, and inclusion training modules; and AlcoholEdu.
- Students will gain access to AlcoholEdu part 1 on December 20, 2021 and must complete the module by Friday, January 7, 2022.
- Students will receive a separate email invitation on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 to complete the “U Got This!” course, as part of our comprehensive approach to sexual and relationship misconduct response and prevention.
This Canvas Course is asynchronous, and students can complete it at their own pace. The deadline to complete the modules is Tuesday, February 1, 2022. An invitation to participate in this course will be sent to students via their Butler email address and via Canvas.
The process to move-in and check-in to campus residences will be communicated to students via your Butler email the week of January 3, 2022.
Event Accommodations
Please allow two weeks’ advance notice prior to Butler’s winter break (December 24, 2021–January 2, 2022) in order to provide adequate time for arrangements to be made. Although attempts will be made to honor accommodation requests submitted with fewer than two weeks’ notice, it cannot be guaranteed that a reasonable accommodation can be provided.
The University does not have medical equipment available, such as wheelchairs, though rental information can be provided upon request.
If you wish to request disability-related accommodations during your academic studies at Butler, you must contact Student Disability Services directly at sds@butler.edu and arrange an individualized discussion.
Hotel Accommodations For Families
Special rates are available at hotels that have partnered with Butler (subject to availability) during our fiscal year (June 2021-May 2022). Most hotels require that reservations be made two weeks in advance. When you call to make reservations, please identify yourself as a member of the Butler family and ask for the Butler rate.
Please contact Meg Haggerty, Director, Office of New Student & Family Programs, via email (mhaggert@butler.edu) or by calling 317-940-8648.
