January Orientation
Join us for Spring Orientation
Join Butler University Student Orientation Coordinators (SOCs), faculty, and staff for January Orientation on Thursday, January 9, 2025 on Zoom.
January Orientation has been designed so that you will get all the key information you need before starting classes. Rest assured that you will have the opportunity to meet other students, finish last-minute tasks before classes start, and getting settled on campus. The first January Orientation session is on Zoom from 7:00 – 9:00 PM ET on January 9, 2025. Please look for a Zoom link invite via your Butler email to participate in this two hour session.
In-person Orientation check-in will be Friday, January 10, 2025 followed by a weekend full of helpful sessions and social opportunities getting you plugged into campus. Families are welcomed for the Friday morning check-in and afternoon sessions.
You and your family are encouraged to email Josiah Hatfield, Assistant Director of the Office of New Student & Family Programs, with any questions!

This Canvas Course is asynchronous, and students can complete it at their own pace. More information about these online course coming soon. An invitation to participate in this course will be sent to students via their Butler email address and via Canvas.
The process to move-in and check-in to campus residences will be communicated to students via your Butler email in December. Check out the full orientation schedule for more information. Check-in and move-in will occur on Friday morning, January 10, 2025.

Although attempts will be made to honor accommodation requests submitted with fewer than two weeks’ notice, it cannot be guaranteed that a reasonable accommodation can be provided.
The University does not have medical equipment available, such as wheelchairs, though rental information can be provided upon request.
If you wish to request disability-related accommodations during your academic studies at Butler, you must contact Student Disability Services directly at sds@butler.edu and arrange an individualized discussion.
