Best Academic Quality in Indiana
Butler University College of Business (COB) placed 63rd in the Bloomberg BusinessWeek ranking of the best U.S. undergraduate business programs for 2010. The only Indianapolis business school in the ranking, Butler COB received an “A” grade for teaching quality and tied for 13th in Academic Quality ranking, beating out all other Indiana-ranked schools.
“Butler is proud to debut in the BusinessWeek rankings at No. 63,” said COB Dean Chuck Williams. “Following the College’s guiding principle of ‘real life, real business,’ Butler does an exceptional job preparing students for success in life and in business.”
To identify the best 139 undergraduate business programs, BusinessWeek interviewed students on nine measures of student satisfaction, postgraduate outcomes and academic quality. It also polled hundreds of corporate recruiters for companies that hire business majors each year, asking which programs turn out the best graduates, and which have the most innovative curricula and most effective career services.
In November, the Butler COB achieved another first – becoming the only Indianapolis MBA program that is nationally ranked, also by BusinessWeek. “We are ranked No. 36 in the nation for part-time MBA programs, and No. 8 in the Midwest,” Williams said. “Butler also earned a ‘best’ rating for career switchers.”
