General Program Questions
Butler Esports is a university-supported program that offers competitive teams, recreational gaming, academic integration, and professional development opportunities for students interested in esports and gaming industries.
Our teams currently participate in over a dozen different game titles at both the club and varsity level:
- Rocket League
- League of Legends
- Overwatch 2
- Valorant
- Marvel Rivals
- Call of Duty
- Rainbow Six Siege
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Counter-Strike
- iRacing
- Chess.com
- Sports Games (NBA 2K, Madden, etc.)
Current and incoming students are eligible to participate on our competitive teams. Tryouts are typically held at the beginning of the fall semester, but are subject to occur at the start of the spring (depending on team needs). More information can be located here.
Absolutely! We offer student leadership positions through the student-ran club program. These positions vary anywhere from board member roles to managers. In addition, Butler Esports offers opportunities for volunteer roles in production, shoutcasting, event operations, and more.
No–students from all majors are welcome to participate in both competitive and non-competitive roles.
Butler Esports Park
The Butler Esports Park is at 4702 Sunset Avenue, Suite #900, Indianapolis, IN 46208.
Located under the Butler University parking garage, there is paid parking.
Yes! The Butler Esports Park is designed for more than just competitive play. We jost a variety of events ranging anywhere from youth camps, community events, corporate team building, birthday parties, and more. Facility availability may vary, so if you are interested in hosting your event here, please contact us.
The Esports Park is equipped with high-end gaming PCs, consoles, standard gaming peripherals, broadcast technology and flexible event space.

The Butler Esports program actively collaborates with industry partners, as well as local schools, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
