News/Media Organizations
Students who have graduated in last few years are employed as reporters, editors, web producers, anchors, videojournalists and more at:
- Television stations in Chicago; Indianapolis; Evansville, IN; Fort Wayne, IN; Beaumont, TX
- Newspapers and digital news organizations in Indianapolis; Washington, D.C.; Memphis, TN; Winston-Salem, NC; and Champaign, IL
- Suburban publications in the Chicago area
- Film and television studios in Los Angeles
Law Firms and Government
Several of our recent graduates are practicing law or currently enrolled in law school at the University of Texas, University of Virginia, Indiana University and Marquette University. One graduate is working for the federal government in Washington, DC. Several have completed internships and secured positions with the Indiana General Assembly, Indiana Republican or Democratic Caucus, or the Indiana Supreme Court. Others have worked on political campaigns.
Corporations, Nonprofits, Agencies, and Trade Associations
Graduates have secured positions at the NCAA, National Retail Association, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Angie’s List and communication agencies such as FleishmanHillard, the Bohlsen Group, Salesforce—just to name a few.
Sports Industry
In addition to sports reporting and production for media organizations, recent graduates have secured positions in sports information at Clemson University, Butler University, East Tennessee State University, University of Louisiana, and Washington University in St. Louis and in marketing and promotion at GRand Solutions Sports and Marketing in Indianapolis.
Graduate School
Students also use the knowledge, training and critical thinking skills they developed as journalism students to further their education in graduate school. Currently, we have a graduate working on her doctorate in sports management at The Ohio State University and another graduate with an interest in science and journalism who is producing environmental documentaries at Arizona State University.
