The Eugene S. Pulliam School of Journalism and Creative Media Facilities
Students in the Eugene S. Pulliam School of Journalism and Creative Media program enjoy the benefits of studying in a top media market beginning freshman year. Students have an opportunity to get involved in an array of creative outlets in audio, video and multimedia production.
Video Production
The Fairbanks Center houses a full-size, HD-capable video production studio and control room. The studio is a multiple-camera setup with both traditional and virtual set capabilities. There is a full-size cyclorama wall for green screen special effects. In addition, students have access to an array of portable video and audio gear including cameras, light kits, microphones and mounting hardware. There are several video edit bays where students can complete the post-production work on their projects.
Recording Studio
Fairbanks also contains a professional-quality recording studio that is complete with isolation booths, a grand piano, numerous electronic instruments and amplifiers, and an impressive array of outboard signal processing gear. Students work with industry standard Pro Tools® software. There are also separate studios for mixing, editing, and surround-sound work.
State-of-the-art Equipment
Students in all our programs work in the Mac-based computer labs that are available in the Fairbanks Building. Each lab is fully equipped with the latest versions of video, audio and digital imaging software so that students can easily turn their ideas into creative expressions.
Online Reservations
Current students enrolled in CCOM production-based classes may reserve time in edit bays and recording studios, or check out equipment for use on assignments in those courses. Please review our policy before checking out equipment.
