Careers & Internships

The Communication and Media Studies program prepares students for a wide variety of professions that require “big picture” thinking and detail-oriented language. Graduates receive a strong foundation for graduate or law school.

CMS graduates are also well prepared for careers as social media managers, speech writers, film critics, lobbyists, fundraisers, campaign directors, lawyers, marketing communications specialists, political analysts, nonprofit organization managers, human resources specialists, media production assistants, commentators, community organizers, community relations personnel, policy analysts, diversity awareness trainers, tour guides, hospitality directors, activists, and educators.

While communication technologies evolve rapidly, the need for strong critical thinking, message analysis, and communication are timeless.
