Life at Butler goes way beyond the classroom. Whatever you want from your college experience—over 150 student organizations to engage in the campus community, dozens of club and intramural sports to enhance your wellness, or leadership and volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful impact in Indianapolis and beyond—Butler has ways to help you “BU.”

Along with organizing Butler’s annual Dance Marathon benefit for Riley Hospital, weekend trips to Chicago, and free shuttles to nearby Broad Ripple Village, SGA is the voice of the students on campus.

Efroymson Diversity Center

Diversity—Ovid Butler’s Vision

As far back as its origins, Butler has been a welcoming place for students of all backgrounds. More recently, Butler opened the Efroymson Diversity Center to provide a warm, welcoming, supportive, and inclusive campus environment for students from diverse backgrounds. College is a time of self-discovery. With the goal of helping members of the Butler community develop lives of purpose, meaning, and contribution, the Center for Faith and Vocation (CFV) offers programs and services that aid in that journey of self-discovery. Explore the CFV website.

Greek Life

Butler fraternities and sororities raised over $174,000 and contributed almost 17,000 service hours for charities in 2013–2014! Greek philanthropy is a way many students engage with the University and the community in unique ways, and have a good time doing so, with various events, competitions, and fundraisers throughout the school year.
