Student Life
Built for Connection
200+ student organizations. Fraternity and sorority life. A stunning campus in the heart of a dynamic city. At Butler, meaningful experiences aren’t the goal; they’re the standard.
We set the stage. You own it.
Where you live. What you eat. What you do between classes and assignments. We refuse to settle for “good enough” so you can step into what’s next with confidence.
Housing and Dining
Where you live matters. All five of our residence halls are central to everything happening on campus—a 5-minute walk to classes, fitness centers, and even basketball games at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Wherever you land, there’s a dining hall nearby, serving up delicious meals and nutritious snacks.
A City Built for You
Welcome to Indianapolis: home to a thriving startup scene, some of the biggest names in biotech, healthcare, sports, and 5,000+ companies eager to hire Butler students for internships and jobs. And from volunteering and service-learning to endless entertainment, there’s so much to explore.
Fraternity and Sorority Life
For Butler Bulldogs, fraternity and sorority life is more than wearing your letters—it’s about serving the community and making a difference in people’s lives. Nearly 30 percent of Butler students participate in the system, building lasting relationships, developing leadership skills, and organizing fundraisers that benefit local nonprofits.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
It’s essential for you to be comfortable showing up as your authentic self. A key champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus is the Efroymson Diversity Center, a space made for everyone that houses several student-run organizations promoting social and cultural autonomy.
