Belonging for Every Bulldog

We believe true transformation doesn’t happen without a bold community. Every part of your college experience plays a role in shaping you—which is why life beyond the classroom should be as full of possibility as you are.

From well-being programs and service learning to student clubs and whole-person support, you’ll find Butler is designed to help you build a future you’re excited about.

Some chase connections. We create them. Learn more below about life at Butler.

We set the stage. You own it.

Where you live. What you eat. What you do between classes and assignments. We refuse to settle for “good enough” so you can step into what’s next with confidence.

Housing and Dining

Where you live matters. All five of our residence halls are central to everything happening on campus—a 5-minute walk to classes, fitness centers, and even basketball games at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Wherever you land, there’s a dining hall nearby, serving up delicious meals and nutritious snacks.

Recreation

Keep your mind and body sharp—in the gym, in the water, or on the field. Because we believe having a strong sense of balance and personal well-being leads to success in the classroom and in life.

Fraternity and Sorority Life

For Butler Bulldogs, fraternity and sorority life is more than wearing your letters—it’s about serving the community and making a difference in people’s lives. Nearly 30 percent of Butler students participate in the system, building lasting relationships, developing leadership skills, and organizing fundraisers that benefit local nonprofits.

Campus Safety

Bulldogs watch each other’s backs. Together, we’ve built a safe campus for all, and our Department of Public Safety is committed to keeping it that way through emergency response, crime prevention programs, transportation services, and more.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

It’s essential for you to be comfortable showing up as your authentic self. A key champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus is the Efroymson Diversity Center, a space made for everyone that houses several student-run organizations promoting social and cultural autonomy.

Our differences make us Butler

Bulldogs are better together. And every Butler student deserves an equitable, inclusive environment. Through academic offerings, events, and resources, we’re building a campus community that embraces the rich perspectives from the racial, ethnic, socio-economic, sexual, gender, ability, and religious diversity within the Butler community.
