Jordan College of the Arts is where passionate students become prepared professionals.

  • With departments in art+design, arts administration, dance, music, and theatre, we combine nationally recognized conservatory-level programs with a rich academic curriculum grounded in the liberal arts, which encourages creativity and curiosity.
  • Through fostering an understanding of the interrelatedness of all the arts, we develop artist-citizens who are actively engaged in the community.
  • Our faculty are artists and mentors, encouraging professional growth through immersive learning philosophies and extensive performance opportunities in order to prepare our students to be performers, art professionals, scholars, arts administrators, and teachers.
  • Butler University is at the hub of arts and culture in our community. Each year more than 200 productions, performances, and programs take place on campus in the university's multi-venue arts complex.
  • Through our community outreach program, the Butler Community Arts School, 100 Butler students teach music and other arts to almost 2,000 young people in Indianapolis.
  • A 2012 national alumni study highlights the strengths of a degree from the Jordan College of the Arts and shows that our graduates are 17% more likely to have first employment in the area of their studies.
