Arts for Non-Majors

We welcome and encourage Butler students of any major to participate in our programs by taking classes, attending our events, or joining an ensemble. If you’re looking for a PCA course or BCR credits, or you just want to stay involved with art, band, choir, dance, or theatre during your college years, consider one of the many ways you can be involved with our departments.

Questions about how to get involved? Contact JCAadmissions@butler.edu.

You can pursue a Minor, Secondary Major, or simply take classes within the Art Department. We also bring in amazing guest artists and display student work all year. Keep up with us on Instagram @artatbutleru!

The Arts Administration Department is perfect for students interested in the behind-the-scenes work that makes great visual and performing art happen. You can take a few courses in the department or add on a Secondary Major. Questions? Email Department Chair, Dr. Brenda Johnston (bljohnst@butler.edu). Follow us on Instagram @butlerartsadmin!

We do not offer a dance minor, but students can take dance classes for non-majors including Ballet and Modern or a dance-focused PCA course. Talk with your academic advisor or search the course catalog for options. Did we mention our program is one of the best dance schools in the country?! Follow us on Instagram @butlerballet!

There are endless opportunities to be involved in Music as a non-major whether that is joining an ensemble, adding a minor, secondary major, and more. We also have hundreds of performances a year, many of which are free! Questions? Contact music@butler.edu.
