The following FAQs are intended for non-vaccinated students and all students who are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19.
Go to your Health Services Portal. Choose “Complete a Survey” from the list of options in the center of the homepage under “I would like to…” From there you will see a list of the surveys that have been issued to you.
Students are required to complete the Health Reporting Form if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or have come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
You have been exposed if you have had close contact with an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19 within 48 hours of their positive test result or symptom onset. Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet for a cumulative 15 minutes or longer over a 24-hour period, sharing food or beverage, having direct physical contact, or sharing any type of living environment. You do not need to report any contact that does not meet this criteria, as it does not constitute an exposure and will not require you to quarantine.
First, make sure your exposure meets the requirements based on the above definition of an exposure (How do I know if I have been exposed?). If it does, fill out your Health Reporting Form and immediately begin quarantining where you live. Your badge status will be updated to Quarantine and you will be added to the list of individuals requiring a call from a Contact Tracer.
You should not schedule a test off-campus, but rather begin to quarantine, read through the Quarantine Instructions, and wait for a call from a Contact Tracer. A Contact Tracer will call you within 24 hours to answer any questions and go through your quarantine information with you.
Yes. Read through the Isolation Instructions to locate the link for the food delivery survey.
Immediately report your symptoms on your Health Reporting Form. Your badge status will be updated to Isolation and you will be added to the list of individuals requiring a call from a Contact Tracer. You will need to contact Health Services to schedule an appointment to be seen by a provider.
You will need to immediately complete the Isolation Housing Form and begin following the Isolation Instructions. After you complete the form, you will receive an email from isolation housing with instructions on moving to Ross, if necessary. You can view the Isolation Instructions here.
Isolation is used to separate people infected with COVID-19 from those who are not. Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are at risk for spreading the virus and infecting others for 10 days after a positive test result, so it is crucial that individuals isolate themselves for this period to prevent spreading the virus.
If you test positive for COVID-19, are experiencing symptoms, or are awaiting a test result from Health Services, you will need to isolate to prevent exposing others to the virus.
If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, you will need to isolate on campus until you can be seen by Health Services. If you test positive for COVID-19 you will need to return home to your permanent residence to isolate. If this is not possible, you may choose to complete your isolation in Ross Hall.
If you live in residential housing or in a Greek house, you must move to Ross Hall to isolate until you are evaluated at Health Services. If you live in off-campus housing, you may remain there if you are able to isolate yourself from any individuals you live with.
In the event that you test positive for COVID-19 it is recommended that you return home to your permanent residence to isolate. If this is not possible, you can complete your isolation in Ross Hall.
Fill out your Health Reporting Form and report a positive test result. You will be added to the list of individuals requiring a call from a Contact Tracer.
Positive Test: If you test positive for COVID-19, your isolation will last for five days effective the day of your symptom onset or positive testing date if asymptomatic. You will be released from isolation on day five if you are asymptomatic or if your symptoms are resolving (without fever for 24 hours).
Symptomatic Isolation: If you are having symptoms, you need to contact Health Services to schedule an appointment. You will remain in isolation until you are evaluated by Health Services and are given further instructions from a provider or a Contact Tracer.
Awaiting Test Results: If you have been given a COVID-19 test at Health Services, you will remain in isolation until your results come back. A positive test will result in a five-day isolation effective the day your symptoms began or you received a positive test result. If you are symptomatic and receive a negative test result, you will be released from symptomatic isolation.
No. You are most at risk of spreading the virus for 5 days. You may continue to test positive for up to 90 days. For this reason, you will not get tested while you are in isolation or at the end of your isolation. If your symptoms have improved and you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours (without the use of medication) after 5 days of isolating, you will be discharged after you complete your 5th day. The CDC recommends you should wear a mask day 6 through day 10.
Yes. Once you are placed in isolation by a Contact Tracer, the Dean of Students will provide your professors with the dates that you are unable to attend classes in person. They will not disclose any personal medical information.
