The 2020 Recreation Movement is a program where colleges and universities across the U.S. are able to engage their communities in some friendly physical activity competition. Through this program, butler students, faculty, and staff can sign up for a free Rec Movement account by using their butler.edu email. Once their account is created, they will have free access to hundreds of live and pre-recorded group fitness classes that can be done from the comfort of their own room, outside, or any other acceptable space. Additionally, participants are able to log their minutes of movement – which is not limited to group exercise. Participants can log minutes of sports they play, running, hiking, yoga, and more. Minutes logged will be added to the Butler University total of minutes which will be displayed on a leader board against all of the other participating schools! There will be chances to win prizes throughout the movement, and it’s a great way to stay motivated. The Find Your Fit Exercise and Nutrition Program includes 12 pre-written workouts, some nutrition tips and information, an optional pre and post fitness assessment you can complete at home, a goals setting section, and an intro to the program. You will be welcome to use as much or as little of the program as you would like, but we hope you use it in full! The workouts can be performed on any days of the week that are best for you, but we welcome completing them at a rate of three per week, in addition to any other exercise or rest you plan to supplement your program with. The Find Your Fit Running and Nutrition Program includes running programs for 5k, 10k, and half marathon races; six supplemental strength workouts; and nutrition guidance from Bon Appetit’s Registered Dietitian. Our certified fitness and nutrition professionals will be available via email to offer support and answer questions that come up along the way.
