PAWS = Peers Advocating Wellness for Students
Our PAWS Peer Educators are student leaders who promote the health and well-being of their fellow Butler students. They are trained to serve as a well-being resource and help connect their peers to support available on- and off-campus. These are paid positions through the Office of Health Promotion.
A variety! Decisions are informed by campus data, monthly themes, and students’ passion areas. Previous events, campaigns, and programs have covered:
- nutrition at college
- mental health, stress reduction
- sexual health (using condoms, promoting healthy relationships, etc.)
- alcohol safety
- promoting the various well-being resources around campus
- Campus and community partners looking to collaborate on an event or program can reach out to any member of PAWS, or email the PAWS supervisor, Katie Wood (kewood1@butler.edu) to discuss opportunities.
- For students looking to join PAWS, we typically hire in late Fall for the Spring semester. Feel free to reach out via email to find out more information (kewood1@butler.edu).
