Orientation Online Modules
Prior to a student’s orientation period, all incoming students are required to complete the Orientation modules outlined below.
Orientation Course
The Orientation online course will prepare you for life as a Bulldog. Within this course you will be introduced to academic and student life resources, learn about what to expect when living or commuting to campus, and explore how to make the most of your Butler experience. The course is asynchronous and students can complete it at their own pace. New students are added to the Canvas Course titled: Fall 2025 – Butler University Orientation. You will go through New Student Registration (NSR) content in late spring / early summer. Then the Orientation Course Canvas materials will go live in July. The deadline to complete the course is August 23, 2025.
Questions about the Orientation course should be directed to the Office of New Student & Family Programs.
“Decisions: Alcohol Awareness and Education” Assignment
At Butler, we believe in the importance of creating a safe and healthy environment. One of the ways we work to achieve that environment is assigning the “Decisions” modules, which are evidence-based and provide students with the information they can use to make healthy decisions regarding alcohol. Completion of the assignment is required for all incoming undergraduate students.
Please complete your assignment before 11:59pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Questions about the program should be directed to Katie Wood, Health Promotion Specialist.
“Cultivating Awareness & Prevention of Sexual Violence” Assignment
This assignment is part of Butler’s comprehensive approach to sexual and relationship violence response and prevention. It consists of five 15-20 minute online training modules that promote a greater awareness and understanding of: sexual violence, healthy relationships, and campus policies. This program is accessible on desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
We understand that students come to campus with a variety of experiences, and that the content found in this module could be triggering, particularly for those who have experienced interpersonal violence.
If you are concerned about the content, please email Prevention Education & Student Well-being Specialist, Amanda Nelson, (arnelson1@butler.edu). Amanda can provide you with resources and help make alternative arrangements for the assignment.
