The Office of Institutional Research & Assessment (OIRA) is the official source for Butler University facts and figures. OIRA’s mission is to foster a data-driven culture and facilitate strategic planning and decision-making by:

  • Providing accurate, relevant, and unbiased data, through descriptive and predictive analytics, to internal and external constituents, including University leadership, staff, and faculty, federal authorities, accrediting bodies, and college guide publishers such as U.S. News & World Report
  • Offering higher education research expertise and statistical consulting services to academic and administrative departments
  • Improving teaching and learning by assisting academic departments with program reviews and other assessment efforts

OIRA Highlights

Butler University Fact Book

The Butler University Fact Book is a comprehensive compilation of official Butler University data. In it you will find information on students (enrollment, retention, and awarded degrees) and faculty (college distribution, course load).

Common Data Set

The Common Data Set is a standardized annual survey, developed through the collaborative effort of higher education institutions and college guide publishers, which acts as a general institutional FAQ resource.
