Science Library
Closed for more than a year as part of the Science Complex Renovations, the Ruth Lilly Science Library re-opened August 25 2021.
Located on the 2nd floor of Levinson Family Hall, the Science Library is a 24/7 space with ID card access for Butler students, faculty, and staff. Housing the natural sciences, health sciences, and psychology collections, it is a bright space equipped with spacious windows, a wide variety of study spaces, 7 bookable study rooms for quiet collaboration, and many whiteboards for brainstorming. The Science Library maintains a culture of quiet and focused concentration.
Butler Libraries’ Information Commons program staffs the service desk, offering the same services available at Irwin Library, such as research support and a small circulating collection of laptops, chargers, and calculators. Butler students, faculty, and staff enjoy 24/7 access to the Information Commons area, housing the copier/scanner/printer, a small meeting space bookable via EMS, and a computer lab, as well as the study space containing the print monograph and journal collections. Please remember to bring your ID when visiting the Science Library.
A self-checkout station is available in the stacks study space, and security cameras and gates have been updated to provide control of materials 24/7.
