Build on the counselor you already are

Designed for professionals with a master’s degree in School Counseling, Butler’s 12-credit certificate builds on your existing education with coursework tailored to Indiana’s educational requirements for Mental Health Counselor licensure—without requiring another practicum or internship. Learn through flexible, 100% asynchronous coursework taught by experienced clinical mental health counselors, with opportunities for personal engagement, individualized instruction, and feedback throughout the program.

The LMHC program offers:

  • 100% online format taught by experienced mental health professionals with asynchronous instruction and targeted personal engagement
  • Cost is $580/credit hour
  • Federal financial aid is available—for more information, email finaid@butler.edu or call 317-940-8200

The LMHC track is specifically designed to meet the needs of school counseling graduates who currently hold a 48 or more credit-hour master’s degree. The LMHC program builds on curriculum of the school counselor, but admission is not limited to school counselors. This 12-credit hour track aligns with the State of Indiana standards for the LMHC license.

See our licensure disclosures website for more information.
