Screenwriting Minor
Butler’s Screenwriting minor gives students the opportunity to focus on the art of voice-driven storytelling, particularly in the context of feature films, TV pilots, short films, and some theater scriptwriting. Butler’s Screenwriting program leverages interdisciplinary exploration in English, Theater, and Creative Media to prepare students for industry-readiness.
At its core, screenwriting is a study in human relationships and a practice in empathy. Students who minor in Screenwriting at Butler not only learn correct screenwriting terminology, techniques, and industry-standard formats, they gain a deeper understanding of humanity and the nuances of the social world. Students learn to craft emotionally rich experiences while also translating them effectively onto the big screen.
