Early Childhood Educator Certificate New Student Checklist
Congratulations and welcome to the Early Childhood Educator Certificate (ECEC) program at Butler University! You are now part of a larger community of like-minded educators with whom we hope you will find meaningful and long-lasting relationships throughout your professional lives.
The ECEC program was designed with you in mind. It is an innovative site-based, teacher development program that blends experiential learning with online course content allowing you to work and learn simultaneously. You will be supported in your learning throughout the program by an on-site cooperative teacher, Butler University early childhood faculty members, and student academic and support staff. Each course requires approximately 20 hours of work each week, including the time you will spend engaging with children and your Cooperative Teacher at the early childhood center where you work. I am excited for you to get started!
Refer to the checklist below to ensure you complete the enrollment process and the required Student Orientation. The Orientation provides an overview of the expectations and support available to you throughout the ECEC program. Please know how grateful I am for all you do for children and their families. It is no small matter.
Warm regards,
Susan Adamson
Program Director, Early Childhood Educator Certificate
