Hendricks Fellowship

Information

Established in 2016 by Dr. Frederick Hendricks in honor of his lifelong passion for conservation and the study of Indiana ecosystems to support undergraduate students in their scientific research. Hendricks Fellows must apply for the research support and preference is given to students whose proposed research is in the area of conservation or Indiana ecosystems.

2017-2018 Hendricks Fellow

Congratulations to Megan Schroeder (’20) and her faculty mentor, Dr. Travis Ryan. Megan’s research is related to Indianapolis salamander adaptation.

2016-2017 Hendricks Fellow

Congratulations to Jacob Reeves (’18) and his faculty mentor, Dr. Julia Angstmann. Jacob is the inaugural Hendricks Fellow. His research project, the Butler Wildlife Watch, will capitalize on a variety of habitat types on Butler’s campus to understand how animals utilize the campus ecosystem. His project will be a valuable addition to a city-wide Indianapolis Wildlife Watch program. Read more about Jacob’s project.
