Prevention Education
As part of the Orientation course for incoming students, Butler students complete the “Cultivating Awareness & Prevention of Sexual Violence” assignment. This assignment is part of Butler’s comprehensive approach to sexual and relationship violence response and prevention. It consists of five 15-20 minute online training modules that promote a greater awareness and understanding of: sexual violence, healthy relationships, and campus policies.
We understand that students come to campus with a variety of experiences, and that the content found in this module could be triggering, particularly for those who have experienced interpersonal violence. If you are concerned about the content, please email Prevention Education & Student Well-being Specialist, Amanda Nelson, (arnelson1@butler.edu). Amanda can provide you with resources and help make alternative arrangements for the assignment.
Creating a culture of well-being and safety takes every Bulldog. To that end, we offer a comprehensive, evidence-based module, “Hazing Prevention 101”. The course educates and empowers participants on how to: recognize, prevent, and report hazing. For questions about the Hazing Prevention 101 module, contact Katie Wood (kewood1@butler.edu).
