James Bain graduated from Butler University with a BS in Pharmacy and earned his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine. He was a Staff Physician at American Health Network for 13 years and specialized in Family Medicine. Dr. Bain has 35 years of physician experience and is now retired.
Ryan Clark is a health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) professional with over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is currently the Senior Director, HEOR Gastroenterology Lead at AbbVie, a biopharmaceutical company based in Lake Forest, IL. Prior to joining AbbVie, he completed a fellowship and spent 7 years in an HEOR-focused role largely supporting global market access at Xcenda, a life sciences consulting firm. Ryan earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from Butler University in 2011, and also completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Florida in 2013.
Adam Cochrane is the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for Organ Transplantation at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He received a BS in Pharmacy from Butler University and Pharm.D. from Purdue University. He went on to earn his MPH from University of Massachusetts. He completed an Organ Transplant/Critical Care Specialty Residency at Henry Ford Hospital. He was a founder of the Illinois Transplant Pharmacist Association during the time that he worked at the University of Chicago. He has publications on both heart and lung transplantation and a research interest in prolonging patient/organ survival after transplant.
Bret Cornn is a physician assistant with Jackson Park Physicians. He earned his undergraduate degree from DePauw University and graduated with a Masters in Medical Science from the Allied Health Division of Emory University School of Medicine. Bret joined the medical staff of Schneck in 1998 and lives in Seymour, IN.
Tony Deahl is a 33 year veteran of the global biopharmaceutical industry, having held a broad range of commercial leadership roles across US and International business areas. Tony’s most recent role was Vice President, Licensing & Acquisition for Abbott’s global pharmaceutical division. He currently serves on the Independent Review Committee for The Clara Abbott Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides financial and scholarship assistance to Abbott employees, retirees, and dependents in need. Tony holds a BS in Pharmacy from Butler (‘84) and an MBA from Northwestern/Kellogg (‘86).
Greg Fox is a current APhA Trustee and Pharmacy Merchandiser for The Kroger Co.’s Central Marketing Area, encompassing Indiana, Illinois, and parts of Missouri, Michigan, and Ohio. Fox’s experience includes community, managed care, long term care, and consultant pharmacy. He received his BS in Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi APhA Community Pharmacy Business Management Program. Fox was awarded the BCPA Pharmacist of the Year, Ohio’s Young Pharmacist of the Year, Kroger President’s Award, and Kroger Chairman’s Award.
Bridget McGrath is a graduate of the Butler University PA Program. Bridget has served as a PA preceptor since 2015. She started her career at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana where she was a member of the hospitalist team. Bridget is currently the Director for NP/PA Service Lines for the Section of Hospital Medicine at the University of Chicago Medicine with a clinical focus in general medicine and transplant co-management.
Becky Merlina was appointed Head of R&D Quality for Advanced Accelerator Applications (AAA), a Novartis company, in 2019. She had previously joined Endocyte in December 2018, as the Vice President of Quality prior to its acquisition by Novartis. In her role, Becky is responsible for Pre-clinical, Early phase CM&C, Clinical Development and Pharmacovigilance Quality oversight, including CMO and CRO activities. Prior to joining AAA, Becky spent 26-years at Eli Lilly & Company where she held leadership roles of increasing responsibility in Global Quality Auditing and Compliance, Clinical Development, Global Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Trial Materials Manufacturing/Packaging, and Analytical Sciences Research and Development. Becky joined Lilly after earning a BS in Pharmacy from Butler University.
Kimberly L. Sterling is a health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) professional with 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. She currently is the Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research at ResMed, a medical device and technology company based in San Diego. Kimberly received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University in 2000 and her Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy at the University of Southern California in 2002, where she was the Eli Lilly Fellow.
Bob Ternik is a Senior Research Advisor and the Outcomes by Design Team Leader at Eli Lilly. His specialties include commercial drug product development and Pediatric, Geriatric and special patient population product design. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy at Butler and Ph.D. of Pharmaceutics at the University of Iowa.
Monica Throckmorton is the Director of Pharmacy Operations and Account Management and has been employed with Cardinal Health for 18 years. She has worked in various capacities with more than 100 hospital pharmacies throughout the US, Puerto Rico and Bermuda. Monica has 30 years of experience in pharmacy practice and management including acute care, long term care, and retail pharmacy settings. She has implemented and optimized pharmacy computer systems, workflows, automation, developed staff education programs, and led operational improvements related to the ever changing health care standards. Monica received her pharmacy degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN.
Tyler Trueg is the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Tempus in Chicago, working primarily with life science companies and commercial data partners within the oncology precision medicine landscape. Before joining Tempus, he worked at other digital health startups across clinical trial recruitment and primary care advertising, and at Eli Lilly and Company with roles in clinical trial design, study recruitment, and pharmaceutical project management. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy and MBA at Butler University and is one of the founding members of the Butler University Community Outreach Pharmacy, an organization formed in 2009 to provide the underserved and uninsured in Indianapolis with pharmacy services. He currently resides in the north suburbs of Chicago with his wife Anne (Butler PharmD) and two boys, Henry and Freddie.
Kathy Zoppi is the Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at Community Health Network. She earned her B.A. at the University of Illinois, then went on to earn her MPH and Ph. D. from the University of Michigan. She is a Clinical Professor of Family Medicine and Public Health at Indiana University and an Adjunct Professor at Marian University. She is a Board Member and founding member for the Indiana Health Advocacy Coalition (IHAC).
