The Library Dean’s Student Advisory Board (LDSAB) is being created in Fall 2025 to assist the leadership of Butler Libraries in developing, improving, and assessing the services, collections, and programs provided in library spaces, with a primary emphasis on the student experience.
Membership
The LDSAB will consist of at least two students from each college, with no more than 18 members. We seek representation from a variety of school years, majors within colleges, and campus residency status to ensure many perspectives are shared. Students can self-nominate, and we are also open to nominations from faculty or staff. Members will be selected by the Library Leadership Team, and members with positive records of engagement will be invited to return the following year.
Meetings
The LDSAB will meet at least twice per semester at Irwin Library, at a time to be determined by members.
Responsibilities
Members are expected to attend all LDSAB meetings, amplify Library social media messages, help generate interest or participation in library services or activities, and provide honest and candid feedback.
Officers
The LDSAB will elect a Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary to work with the Dean of Libraries and Library Leadership Team on schedules and functions of the LDSAB.
Benefits
You’ll gain experience in leadership and stakeholder development, learn the inner workings of library management, and create lasting impact on the library and Butler community!
