Cathy is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Management at the Lacy School of Business at Butler University, where she teaches organizational behavior and introductory marketing classes. Prior to her transition to teaching, she had a twenty-five year business career in sales and marketing, including sales and marketing research positions at Eli Lilly, account management roles at advertising agency Handley-Miller, and business-to-business sales experience with St. Vincent Health Care Systems. Her recent board activities have focused on male-mentoring organization 4WARD, based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In addition, she has been instrumental in expanding online and hybrid education at the Lacy School of Business, has served as the Faculty Advisor for the campus Libertarian Party, and facilitates Butler University Executive Education sessions at area companies, such as Roche, IndyGo and Etica Group.
Cathy has a BS in medical technology from the University of Vermont, and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Courtney Droms Hatch is the Associate Dean of Faculty and a Professor of Marketing at Butler University. She has taught classes in advertising and promotions as well as marketing research at the graduate level. At the undergraduate level, Dr. Droms Hatch has taught courses in health care marketing, marketing research, international marketing, marketing of services, and principles of marketing.
Her research interests include examining the intersections of marketing and public policy, including topics such as the effect of health information on food choices, examining health care decisions in international markets, and consumer choices of functional food products. Her research has been published in the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Journal of Consumer Policy, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, Journal of Food Products Marketing, and Health Marketing Quarterly.
Courtney’s academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of South Carolina, and a B.S. in Marketing and International Business from Georgetown University.

Dr. Chuandi (Charlie) Jiang is an Assistant Professorof Marketing in the Lacy School of Business at Butler University.
Dr. Jiang specializes in the study of imagination, mental simulation, and curiosity in consumer science. Drawing on the statistical methodology and interdisciplinary theoretical lens of psychology and marketing, Dr. Jiang’s research focuses on five primary topics: first, the elicitation of consumer imagination using imagery, auditory, and textual cues in marketing stimuli and sales dialogue; second, the cognitive, affective, and behavioral consequences of activated imagination, such as psychological ownership, curiosity, excitement, and emotional brand attachment; third, the impact of curiosity in hedonistic and pleasure-seeking consumptions; fourth, cultural schema and the decoding or interpretation of brand messages; fifth, the myth of brand persona.
Dr. Jiang has taught a wide range of marketing courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Jiang’s teaching specialties are Consultative Selling, E-sports and Gaming Marketing, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing Analytics.
Prior to joining Lacy School of Business, Dr. Jiang received his PhD in Marketing and International Business from the Richard A.Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University, a Master of Science in Marketing Analytics from Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Henan Normal University in China.
Dr. Jiang has industrial experience in marketing consulting and marketing research. He is also a co-founder and owner of a marketing firm, which specializes in advertising, pricing strategies, predictive modeling, and sales training.
Outside of research and teaching, Dr. Jiang writes expressionistic fictions and paints. He has written five fictions and planned to publish them. Heplays soccer as a winger at least once a week and plays basketball everyFriday.
Brief Bio of Bob Mackoy
Bob Mackoy is Professor of Marketing at Butler University. His primary research interests focus on consumer satisfaction and other post-consumption processes, immigrant population business development, and ecotourism. His research has appeared in multiple journals including Decision Sciences, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Internet Commerce, Journal of Social Psychology, Thunderbird International Business Review, Journal of Ecotourism, The Journal of Tourism Studies, Journal of Macromarketing, and College and Research Libraries, as well as in numerous academic and professional conferences.
He has worked in a variety of organizations, both large and small; his professional work experience outside of academia can most charitably be described as “eclectic.”

George T. Newhart, Jr., B.S., MBA, CPA, CGMA.
Retired Automotive and Electronics Industries executive. Served in all areas of operational and corporate accounting and finance, with major organizations that included Fiat Chrysler, Panduit, and Emhart (now Stanley /Black & Decker).
Graduate of Butler University, holding a BS degree in Accounting and an MBA degree. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and in 2012, was awarded certification as Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). The CGMA designation serves as recognition of extensive background and experience in international financial management.
Currently serve as Chairman of the Board of Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis. Also serve as Executive and Finance Committee member.
Originally from Indianapolis and have lived and worked in Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati and South Bend/Elkhart, Indiana. Currently live in Fishers, Indiana, where I moved to after retirement, to be near family and close friends.
Taught at the undergraduate and graduate level, in an adjunct role, during and after working career, at Marian University, Indiana University, Indiana Wesleyan University, and Anderson University. Courses taught included accounting, finance, economics and strategic planning.
Currently serve as an Executive Career Mentor in the Butler University Lacy School of Business.
Member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Indiana Society of CPA’s.
Deb is an Associate Professor of Marketing. Her main teaching focus is Advertising and Promotion Management and Marketing Management Strategy, the capstone course for undergraduate marketing seniors. She taught the inaugural course offering of Creativity and Innovation for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Major. She and Dr. Padgett championed the initial Business Experience courses which later evolved into FBE 101. She, and Art Professor, Guatam Rao, co-created a course for Perspectives in Creative Arts, called Aesthetics and Design, which considers the integration of art principles and marketing. She’s also taught in the Honors program and the MBA program.
Deb publishes articles on a variety of topics but her passion is exploring pedagogy and the role of instruction in the success of students. She has worked with colleagues in other disciplines including economics, organizational behavior, finance, and business law, as well as with collaborators outside the university.
Deb’s academic credentials include a Bachelor Degree in Marketing from The Ohio State University, and both a MBA and Ph.D. in Marketing from Kent State University. She has over 35 years of teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, serving on the faculty at the University of Maine, Orono, and Butler University.

Dr. Chi (Cathy) Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Lacy School of Business at Butler University. She received the Ph.D. in Marketing at the University of Mississippi. Prior to her Ph.D., she received a Master of Information System and Operations Management from the University of Florida and a Master of Marketing Management from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in China. In addition, she has two Bachelor degrees in Computer Science and English.
Her research interests include marketing strategy, retailing, online marketing and nonprofit organization (NPO) marketing. Her professional goal is to continue research into trends in online marketing and to develop strategies to address changing trends. Her work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Business Ethics, Frontiers in Psychology, and VOLUNTAS: International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit Organizations.
