Where can I find employment opportunities at Butler University?

Please visit the Butler Careers Site for all staff positions open at the University.

 

How do I apply for a staff position at Butler University?

Once you visit the Butler Careers Site you can search for positions and chose the job you would like to apply to. Then click the ‘Apply Now’ button location next to the job position information.  From here, you will be able to start your application.

How do I apply for a faculty position at Butler University?

On the top right hand corner there is a yellow banner labeled “Faculty Openings”.  This link will take you to our page with our current faculty openings.

 

Am I required to fill out all of the fields on the application?

You are only required to fill out the mandatory fields, however, we encourage you to give us as much information as possible.  Each mandatory field is marked with an asterisk.

What if I do not have a computer or access to the internet?

Please refer to your local library or come to our Human Resources office at the following location:

Can I withdraw my application once I have submitted it for a specific job posting?

You can only withdraw an application after you have applied and before it goes into the Reviewed stage.

Can I apply for more than one job at a time?

Yes.  Once you have applied for a position you will have an account.  This account can be used to apply to as many jobs as you wish.

How long are positions open/available to apply?

Each position will either have a specific date that the positon will be closed or will say “Open Until Filled”.

I missed the job closing date, can I still apply?

Unfortunately, once the position is closed you are no longer able to apply. However, we encourage you to call Human Resources for more information at (317) 940-9355.

I’m having trouble logging in, is there assistance available?

Please contact Human Resources at (317) 940-9355.

I can’t remember my password. How do I reset it?

There is an option to reset your password by clicking the “Forgotten your password?” option below your login information.

Can I change my password?

Yes you can change your password by clicking on the “Forgotten your password?” option below your login information.

Can I update my name, email, or my address on my account?

Yes. On your account page there is option titled “Update Profile”.  This area will allow you to update your name, e-mail, and your address.

How do I check the status of a job I have already applied to?

Log into your account on the Butler Careers Site under Returning Applicants and on the front page of your account you will see “Current Status” which will contain the most current status of your application process.

How long should I expect to wait to hear back once my application has been submitted?

This depends on the volume of applications we receive. We encourage you to log into your account frequently to check for the most current status of your application.

If I answered a question incorrectly after I submitted the application can I make changes?

Unfortunately, you are unable to make changes on your own. You will need to contact Human Resources at either askhr@butler.edu or (317) 940-9355 to make any changes after you have submitted your application.

How do I withdraw from a position after my application has been reviewed (phone screen, interview, etc.)?

Please send an e-mail to askhr@butler.edu and include the position you would like to withdraw from.

Am I able to go back in and edit my application after it has been submitted?

Unfortunately, you are only able to edit your account information after an application is submitted.

I put the wrong information for one or more of my references, how am I able to fix this?

Please e-mail Human Resources at askhr@butler.edu and include the information you would like to change for your references.

How can I add a picture to my profile?

Unfortunately, you are unable to add a profile picture to your account.

Will I be notified when my application has moved forward to another step?

No, we do encourage you to check your account page frequently to check for the last update in your application process.

How can I be notified about other positions?

You can be notified about positions by subscribing to Job Alerts in the system.  Scroll down to the middle of the Butler Careers Site page and you will see “Job Alert” on the right between “Search for Job” and “Career FAQs”.  Click on “Subscribe to Job Alerts” and fill out the form.
