Hoagies and Hops is a casual sandwich shop serving authentic Pennsylvania food near Butler University. With ingredients sourced from PA, Hoagies and Hops hopes to bring a taste of the authentic Philly cheesesteak to the Indianapolis community.
The program that came to be recognized as Rx Gaming was founded in 2022 by Austin Scott, MD. The program started as a way to introduce adaptive video gaming into the Cincinnati community through collaboration between two organizations: The AbleGamers Charity and The Bridge Adaptive Sports and Recreation.
Initial efforts included one on one evaluations through the hospital setting. However, this was limiting at times and a hospital is not a “fun” place to visit. This led to a new tradition of monthly community events at a local esports bar and restaurant, Velocity Esports, in December 2022. The main focus was providing evaluations to any gamer with disabilities that wanted to be able to play games and providing any necessary equipment for these accommodations free of charge.
This program continues on a monthly basis where new gamers can come for one on one evaluations and old gamers can return and play games with the community.
