Doctor of Medical Science
The fully online Butler University Doctor of Medical Science degree is designed for Physician Assistants interested in advancing in the medical field. Through our program, PAs will be given the opportunity to critically evaluate and learn from medical literature, extending their medical knowledge to better serve their patients. They will also gain the business acumen to move into positions of leadership within their institutions or clinics.
The module-based curriculum is self-paced for students to enter into the program at any one of six starting points in the academic calendar.
The Butler Doctor of Medical Science program is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
The application for the spring, summer, and fall 2020 terms opens on August 1, 2019. Admission decisions are made on an ongoing basis.
Applicants must have successfully graduated from a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of a Physician Assistant and must currently hold either a National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification/recertification or a state license to practice as a Physician Assistant. A previously earned master’s degree is not required.
