Dawg Days

Dawg Days is a Pre-Orientation Program that strives to build a supportive network of students from diverse backgrounds and identities including students of color and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Peer mentors and University staff facilitate empowering social and educational activities while exposing students to campus and community resources to help them build relationships and navigate their journeys at Butler.

Typically, Dawg Days participants get to interact with and attend workshops facilitated by:

  • Student Success Center
  • Hub for Black Affairs and Community Engagement
  • The Compass Center
  • Butler University alumni
  • And more!

In addition to the workshops, Dawg Days participants are matched with a peer advocate. Peer advocates provide personal support, assistance, social guidance, and positive campus survival skills through strong mentoring communities and individual  mentoring. Peer advocates introduce Dawg Days participants to different events on-campus, coordinate one-on-one meetings with them, and serve as a referral agent and connector to the rest of Butler’s campus.
