Summer 2026 Beckman Scholar Research

2026-2027 Beckman Scholars Alexa Simpson and Liesl Rozeboom had a productive first summer, with Alexa investigating viral infection cycles and Liesl studying the effects of social isolation on alcohol consumption. Both presented posters at the 2026 Butler Summer Scholar Showcase on July 15. Alexa and Liesl both wrote and submitted research proposals building on their preliminary data that they will work on during the 2026-2027 academic year and through the end of summer 2027. We are excited to see what they uncover!
