Young Alumni Board

The Young Alumni Board of Directors was started as a steering committee in the summer of 2003 and has grown into a self-governing body of 24 volunteer members. Each spring, a new class of 8 members is selected to serve a 3-year term. During their term, Board members are asked to attend 4 annual Board meetings (typically on Saturday mornings) and fulfill action items determined by the Board to increase young alumni engagement.

Within the Board, there are five committees that help plan programming in various areas for young alumni living in central Indiana:

  • Engagement
  • Development
  • Big Event
  • Membership
  • Ambassadors in Action

The committees meet an average of 4 times per year, and the Board relies on input from each committee in organizing annual programs and new initiatives. Committee volunteers do not need to be members of the Board in order to participate on most of the committees.

Applications are now being accepted for the June 2015-May 2018 term. Graduates from 2005-2014 living in Central Indiana are eligible to apply. Applicants are asked to submit the written application form, a copy of their resume, and a letter of recommendation. All application materials must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015, for consideration. Applicants may complete the application form online or submit a printed copy of the form. In addition to board meetings, selected members will be asked to participate on one of the committees listed above and to complete a series of action items outlined in the Action Plan for each year of his/her term.
