Interested in becoming a member of Recreation & Wellness? You’ve come to the right place! Check out the information below for types of memberships available, pricing, and information on tours of our facilities.
Tours
The RecWell staff is happy to give tours of the facility within the HRC at any time. Just stop in and ask for a tour at the Membership Services Desk. Self-guided tours are also available. For large groups, we ask that you call us in advance at (317) 940-6131 or email HRC@Butler.edu.
Membership Types
Note: All new memberships must initially be set up in person at the Membership Services Desk in the HRC. Once an initial membership is established, members may renew their membership online through our Sales Portal.
Membership Cost:
A RecWell annual membership is included in the student activity fee.
Membership Type Definition:
Undergraduate students enrolled in at least 12 credit hours receive a RecWell membership and full access to our facilities and programming for the current semester they are enrolled. Fees are paid via the student activity fee. Note: If full-time students are enrolled for BOTH the fall and spring terms, the student will have access to RecWell throughout the following Summer, until August 1 of that year. If students are NOT enrolled full-time for both semesters, the student must purchase a Summer membership.
Membership Cost:
1 Semester — $275.00 at the start of the semester and prorated each day after
Membership Type Definition:
Students enrolled in graduate classes or undergraduate students enrolled in less than 12 hours need to purchase a RecWell membership. Graduate and part-time students do not pay the activity fee that pays for RecWell memberships; thus, they are required to pay out-of-pocket.
Membership Cost:
A RecWell membership is included in all full-time employees benefits package. The RecWell membership is linked to their Butler ID.

Membership Type Definition:
All part-time faculty and staff employed by the university are eligible to purchase a reduced-cost RecWell membership. Verification of current Faculty and Staff status via Butler University ID is necessary to join. Faculty and staff members can elect for payroll deduction if an annual membership is purchased.

Wednesdays:
- Open Track Usage 6:00–8:00 AM, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, 4:00-5:00 PM
Thursdays:
- Open Track Usage 6:00–8:00 AM, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, 4:00–5:00 PM
- Basketball 12:00–1:00 PM, Gym
Fridays:
- Open Track Usage 6:00–8:00 AM, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, 4:00–5:00 PM
Membership Cost:
1 Month — $30.00 at start of the month and prorated each day after
3 Month — $80.00 at start of the month and prorated each day after
Annual — $300.00
Membership Type Definition:
RecWell members may add Additional Family Members to their RecWell membership. An Additional Family Member must be either a spouse, partner, or dependent 16 yrs or older who lives with the primary member. Proof of that relationship may be required.
Dependents under the age of 16 may only use RecWell spaces and programs with their parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian must accompany them at all times.
Membership Cost:
Day Pass — $10.00
1 Month — $55.00 at the start of the semester and prorated each day after
3 Month — $160.00 at the start of the semester and prorated each day after
Annual — $590.00
Membership Type Definition:
Individuals who graduated from Butler University are eligible to purchase a RecWell membership. Proof of graduation status may be required.

Membership Type Definition:
The following groups are considered Affiliates and are eligible to purchase a RecWell membership. Anyone who works or has an approved connection to these entities is eligible for an Affiliate Membership. Proof of affiliation may be required.

- Board of Trustees
- Ovid Butler Society
- Retired Faculty
- Volunteer Coaches – Athletics and Club Sports
- Institute for Study Abroad full-time, salaried employees
- Christian Theological Seminary (CTS) Students, Faculty & Staff
- Follett full-time, salaried employees

- Visiting Lecturers (approved by department or dean)
