Rec Day 2026 will be on Sunday, February 22, 2026, as it is celebrated annually on that date to commemorate the founding of NIRSA. This event, also known as National Recreational Sports & Fitness Day, is a time for colleges and universities to celebrate recreational sports and fitness.

Special Intramural Cups
Team up with your fellow Bulldogs to win your cup! RecWell and Intramurals host special cups to foster a fun, competitive challenge for Butler students. Each team earns points in all sports for participation and for postseason final standings. All points earned by a team in any league, tournament, or event count towards their total at the conclusion of the semester.
All participating organizations and houses must comply with eligibility requirements to join the competition, and all team members must comply with participant eligibility requirements for an organization or house to earn points.
If an organization is academically ineligible according to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, it will still be eligible for competition. The organization will receive participation points but will not receive points for placing in the postseason tournament.
Organizations and houses can earn points throughout the semester. The total number of points accumulated will be calculated by the Intramural staff at the end of each semester.
In competitive leagues or recreational leagues, organizations and houses can register more than one team to earn additional points. In a fraternity league or sorority league, an organization can register only one team. If there are not enough teams to form a separate fraternity league or sorority league, an organization may earn regular season participation points by registering a team in the largest recreational league or competitive league. Points will still be awarded for postseason play if there is not a fraternity league or sorority league as long as the organization is registered in the largest league.
