Volunteer Opportunities

Field trips occur Monday – Friday between the hours of 9AM and NOON. Volunteers are asked to assist with FOUR (4) field trips each month. A minimum commitment of one semester (6 months) is requested. All Youth Fitness Mentors receive a complimentary membership to the National Institute for Fitness and Sport’s 65,000 square foot fitness center.

Mission
The National Institute for Fitness and Sport is dedicated to enhancing human health, physical fitness and athletic performance through research, education and service for people of all ages and abilities. The NIFS mission is carried out through a variety of departments, including Athletic Performance, Corporate Fitness Management, Educational Services, Fitness Center and Youth Development.
