Volunteer Information
Mission
As a faith-based organization, it is the mission of Midwest Food Bank to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition locally and throughout the world and providing disaster relief; all without discrimination. Our vision is to provide industry-leading food relief to those in need while feeding them spiritually.
Volunteer Opportunities
We have 5 Load Out Days per month. One week a month it is a Tuesday and a Thursday, another week of the month it is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please see our website for a calendar. Load Out Days are a great way to get to know us and help our agencies/food pantries in the process. Every Load Out Day more than 50 agencies come in and receive their monthly allotment. Volunteers help by picking and loading the items the agencies choose onto their carts and into their vehicles.
We also have repackaging jobs, cleaning, light maintenance, etc. that can be done Monday through Friday 8:00 – 5:00. There are also a couple of Saturdays a month that we have volunteers come in for a variety of projects. Whether as a part of a group or an individual we can offer a volunteer opportunity for you that not only blesses you but many others.
