Easter Seals Crossroads improves the lives of children and adults with special needs, disabilities or challenges by promoting inclusion, independence and dignity.
Volunteer Opportunities
First, we are looking for student leaders on campus. The primary responsibility would be to mentor another college student on the Autism spectrum once a week. The mentors will be helping these students connect with campus resources, gain time management skills, help with transitioning to a college environment, getting involved in social activities, and serving as a resource and friend. We are looking for students who are dedicated and motivated to be a positive role model in the lives of our students
Additionally, we are looking for individual volunteers to provide childcare at our weekly respite program, Parents’ Night Out. Parents’ Night Out is offered the first through the fourth Friday of each month from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. at Easter Seals Crossroads. The program provides care for the children and their siblings, ages six months through 12 years, while their parents enjoy an evening out. Parents’ Night Out provides a safe and nurturing environment for all children, recreational experiences, gross motor experiences in a fun, brightly-colored, indoor play gym and large, outdoor playground with adaptive equipment, care for siblings, a staff/adult volunteer to child ratio of 1:3, themed activities, and nutritional snacks.
