Volunteer Center Staff
The Butler Volunteer Center is completely student-staffed, a unique trait compared to other universities. The staff is very involved on campus and is a great resource to find out about not only volunteer opportunities but also campus happenings as well. Brooke is a senior majoring in Human Communication and Organizational Leadership with a minors in Strategic Communication and Peace & Conflict Studies. As the Student Director, Brooke’s job entails a lot of organizing and facilitating goals and objectives to the staff. She generates weekly reports about what the Volunteer Center is doing and helps our staff coordinate their positions. Another major part of her role is helping to educate Butler’s population about service and what it means to be both and Active Citizen and a Servant Leader. Volunteer Project Coordinator
Reagan is a sophomore majoring in Marketing and Entrepreneurship and Innovation with a minor in Political Science. As the Volunteer Project Coordinator, Reagan’s job involves coordinating monthly volunteer projects with various organizations in the Indianapolis community. She organizes volunteer projects that cover a broad scope of social issues, and she plans a broad range of projects for everyone to enjoy and find what fits them. Education and Advocacy Coordinator
Erica is a junior majoring in Spanish with minors in Environmental Studies, Organizational Communication, and Ballet. As Education and Advocacy Coordiantor, Erica works to expand meaningful and reflective service opportunities and engage various on-campus organizations. She also organizes educational events and material for the student body to promote awareness of social justice issues impacting the Indianapolis community. Erica is passionate about Envionmental Justice and Sustainability, and she studied abroad in Valparaiso, Chile during the Fall 2019 semester! Feel free to contact her at email@example.com.
Taylor is a junior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Mild Intervention. As Media Coordinator, Taylor oversees the Volunteer Center’s database and works to develop student engagement and awareness of the Volunteer Center. She creates the weekly Listserv that is sent out to students. The Listerv includes information such as: Volunteer Center sponsored events, community volunteering events, and any other Volunteer Center information that can be shared with other members of the community and students. John is a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Economics. As Technology Coordinator, John is in charge of keeping the Volunteer Center’s website updated with current and ongoing projects as well as providing easy access and updated information to a directory of non-profit organizations in the Indianapolis area. John also collaborates with the Media Coordinator to update the Butler Engage page for the Volunteer Center and keeps the online service calendar up to date. Jordyn is a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Spanish. As Events Coordinator, Jordyn oversees and manages the organization and planning of various volunteering events, from blood drives, to open houses, to donation drives for the new Food Pantry.
