Curriculum

The Master’s in Strategic Communication is a flexible, 30-credit hour, completely online master’s degree program that can be completed in as little as 20 months, if continuously enrolled. This program builds on your own professional experience, knowledge, and passion to advance within your current organization or transition into a new career path, promoting personal growth and helping you tackle new challenges.

The program consists of 15 hours of required coursework that represents the spine of the master’s degree. Each of the program’s modules is seven weeks in length and taught by faculty members who are well-connected to professional organizations, industry professionals, and best practices.

The required courses include: 

  • Foundations of Strategic Communication
  • Strategic Visual Communication 
  • Research Methods: Design & Analysis 
  • Law and Ethics in Strategic Communication
  • Capstone Project or Thesis

In addition to the strong core curriculum, you will round out your studies through 15 credit hours of electives. These elective courses provide a deep dive into areas such as Crisis Communication, Branding, Social Media, and more. This variety of topics will allow you to pursue areas of interest that are tailored to your own personal and professional goals.
