FAQ and Campus Information

Are there any restrictions on campus due to COVID-19?
Masks are required inside all campus buildings. Those guests entering a campus facility for an event/activity or to use the restroom will be required to wear a mask.

What is the best way to enter campus, and where do I park when I arrive?
It is recommended that guests arrive to campus via East 46th Street and should park in the Sunset Avenue Parking Garage. A parking fee of $10 will be charged. Guests will see increased traffic on the westside of campus due to the Penrod Arts Fair. Parking in surface lots marked for permit parking and on residential streets will be restricted. Parking at Hinkle Fieldhouse will only be available to those who purchased tailgate parking passes.

I have mobility issues. Will there be transportation available on campus?
Two shuttles will be circulating campus on Saturday, September 11, beginning at 11:30 A.M. and running through the end of the football game for those guests that need assistance in reaching another area of campus. The shuttles will stop at Hinkle Fieldhouse, the Sunset Ave. Parking Garage, 46th and Sunset, Atherton Union, and South Campus.

How do I receive my pre-ordered tickets?
Tailgate parking passes and tickets purchased with Bulldog Boulevard tents were mailed in advance. Football tickets ordered in advance for the weekend should be available for print or mobile delivery via your Ticketmaster account. Other events and open houses do not have printed tickets; guests should plan to check-in directly to those events.

Is there an information tent for Homecoming?
Yes, the Alumni Association tent will be located in Bulldog Boulevard at Hinkle Fieldhouse, south of gate 4, from noon-6:00 P.M. This is where you can check-in to receive Butler swag, send a postcard to friends not on campus, and receive general information for the weekend.

Will there be food options available for purchase in the tailgate lot?
Yes. There will be a food truck festival from Noon— 3:00 PM adjacent to Bulldog Boulevard. Additional food options and beer garden will also be available from Bon Appetit, Butler’s catering partner.

What items am I allowed to bring for tailgating at Hinkle Fieldhouse?
Please refer to the Athletics' Tailgating Policy

Are there restroom facilities available for tailgating on Saturday?
Guests may utilize restroom facilities inside Hinkle Fieldhouse (masks required) by entering through Gate 1. Additional portable restrooms will be available along the west side of Hinkle.

I purchased a tent in Bulldog Boulevard. How do I know which one is mine?
Each tent will have the signage requested on the Homecoming registration form. The Community Engagement Office has mailed a packet which included your parking pass and a map of Bulldog Boulevard indicating the location of your tent. Anyone with difficulty locating their tent should go to the Alumni Association tent located in Bulldog Boulevard for assistance.

When can I arrive at my Bulldog Boulevard tent?
The Hinkle lot will open at Noon on Saturday, September 11, and remain open until the conclusion of the football game. Bulldog Boulevard tents can be occupied during those hours.

I receive a parking spot with my Bulldog Boulevard tent. Where will that be located?
Bulldog Boulevard parking passes will allow guests to park free of charge in the Sunset Avenue Parking Garage. Passes were mailed to tent holders in advance of the weekend. There is a temporary unloading zone alone 49th Street where Bulldog Boulevard pass holders may unload and move their supplies before parking their car.

What activities are available for kids at Homecoming?
There is a lot for kids to do at Homecoming. The Bulldog Beauty Contest is a great family event and begins at 2:00 P.M. Family Fun Fest is returning with distanced activities and will include face painting, a caricature artist, and the family-friendly Bulldog Crawl: Special Edition scavenger hunt this year.

I registered for Homecoming but can no longer attend. Is it possible to get a refund?
Refunds cannot be provided for cancellations made now through Homecoming. Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend the event.

20th Annual Bulldog Beauty Contest

Register your Bulldog for the 20th Annual Butler University Bulldog Beauty Contest!

Butler Blue IV is excited to welcome fellow bulldogs far and wide this Butler Homecoming favorite. Held in the heart of homecoming, the location for this year’s contest will be at the west end of the Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot, in front of the HRC, and surrounded by tailgating activity, which should make for a lively and festive atmosphere and an accessible event for participants and spectators alike. Registrants will be contacted with specific instructions for parking and check-in prior to the contest.

Weather Precautions:

Since Homecoming is being held earlier in the calendar this year, with events scheduled for later in the day, there is a chance that temperatures will be warmer than in year’s past.

To help keep our doggos safe and cool we will be taking multiple precautions and providing the following elements, including:

  • A covered Bulldog Cooling Zone in the grass behind the stage
  • Fans, kiddie pools, and water bowls will be available
  • Fans running on stage
  • Personal complimentary cooling towels courtesy of the Indiana Bulldog Club
  • Carpeted runners covering the pavement providing ingress and egress to/from the stage
  • A certified veterinarian on site
  • A shorter run of show

Please come prepared to do your part to keep your pup at a healthy temperature. Bring plenty of water, personal fans, coolers, etc. Do not put costumes on your dog until right before they appear on stage. And most importantly, if you feel that this event may be too much for your dog to handle given the conditions that day, please play it safe, stay home, and enjoy the live stream.

Furthermore, if the temperatures that day reach a dangerous level we will be prepared to cancel the contest.

Homecoming Coloring Contest

Bulldogs of all ages are invited to join our annual coloring contest! There will be prizes for all age groups, and you can view this year's entries at the Butler Bookstore during Homecoming. Be sure to return your coloring page to the Butler Bookstore no later than 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 11th. Good luck!
