Champion inclusivity in the classroom.

Butler’s online Master of Arts in Deaf Education paves the way to certification for educators looking to serve deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children and their families. With preparation in early intervention and school-age support, you’ll make a lasting difference in the listening and spoken language development of students who use hearing technologies such as cochlear implants and hearing aids.

Interprofessional collaboration and experiential learning are central to the program’s approach. Graduates are equipped to work alongside speech-language pathologists, audiologists, educators, special educators, and other therapists as they gain field experience through our robust partnership network.

Modeled after Fontbonne University’s 60-year legacy of excellence, Butler University’s Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Department in the College of Communication advances preparation in deaf education through an immersive online format. The program expands access and fosters belonging for DHH children and their families in Indiana, across the country, and around the globe.
