Sound Booth Coming Late Summer

Located in the basement of Irwin Library, the Sound Booth will provide Butler faculty with a sound-optimized environment to record high-quality audio for instructional podcasts, narrated lectures, recorded interviews and other content. 

 

Active Learning FLC Continues for Second Year
The CAT Faculty Learning Community for Active Learning will continue their work in the Fall semester, exploring technology in support of active learning.

 

Digital Humanities Reading Circle Wrap-Up

CAT team member Megan Grady-Rutledge presented for the second consecutive year at Bryn Mawr's Blended Learning in the Liberal Arts Conference. Megan’s presentation, "A Digital Humanities Reading Circle: From Conceptualization to Implementation," shared takeaways from a reading group focused on digital humanities pedagogy and provided an implementation roadmap for those interested in trying something similar at their institutions.

 

Summer LMS Review Update

In late May, Butler reached agreements with both Instructure and Desire2Learn to implement pilots for their respective learning management systems, Canvas and Brightspace. The bulk of pilots will occur this fall and will involve approximately 25 courses across all of the colleges.  Two online classes are piloting the two vended systems this summer. The fall pilot will involve the newest version of Moodle as well as Canvas and Brightspace.
