Young Alumni Board

banner with young alumni board of director badge and text that says join us

Young alumni programming aims to assist recent graduates in central Indiana in maintaining strong connections with their alma mater. Young alumni are defined as alumni who have graduated within the last 10 years.

The Young Alumni Board of Central Indiana provides an opportunity for young alumni to connect with their fellow graduates, network for career opportunities, and serve both the community and Butler. The board consists of 24 recent alumni who have volunteered to serve three-year terms, meet four times a year as a group, and plan activities for Butler’s largest concentration of young alumni.

Within the Board, there are four committees that help plan programming in various areas for young alumni living in Central Indiana:

  • Engagement
  • Development
  • Membership
  • Ambassadors in Action

The committees meet an average of 4 times per year, and the Board relies on input from each committee in organizing annual programs and new initiatives. Committee volunteers do not need to be members of the Board in order to participate on most of the committees.

In addition to board meetings, selected members will be asked to participate on one of the committees listed above and to complete a series of action items outlined in the Action Plan for each year of his/her term. The Board will accept applications for membership again in early 2019. Candidates should reside in Central Indiana and have received their Butler degree in the last 10 years. All applicants must submit an application, a letter of recommendation, and a copy of their resume for consideration during the process.

For more information on the Young Alumni Board, please contact the Office of Alumni and Parent Programs at 800-368-6852, ext. 9946.
