Scholarships Change Lives

Scholarships are Butler’s top funding priority and area of greatest need for a reason–because our students are our top priority. We’re passionate about making our exceptional, student-centered learning experience available to all who seek it, and scholarships are critical to that mission. While society rightly scrutinizes the cost of higher education and climbing student debt, we strive to make Butler’s superior education an attainable option for promising students. In fact, we annually invest 30% of our operating budget into competitive financial aid packages because we are convinced that Bulldogs are a worthy investment.

In keeping with Ovid Butler’s founding vision, we are dedicated to ensuring that a Butler education is a realistic option for all, regardless of financial circumstance or personal identity. In order to sustain this commitment to our founding vision, we need your help.

Studies continue to show the significant, long-term economic and personal benefit for those who pursue education beyond high school. When you support student scholarships, you are truly changing the trajectory of a student’s life forever. And, because our mission is to prepare our graduates to make a meaningful impact in the world, you can feel confident that your gift will also have a long-term ripple effect as today’s students become tomorrow’s graduates.

As Butler continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of learners through new pathways, credentials, and degree options, scholarships will always be central to opening the door for students who would not otherwise be able to consider a Butler education. As students begin to enroll in Founder’s College and consider whether they will continue on at Butler to pursue a bachelor’s degree, student scholarships will become even more important to fulfilling our mission.

You can support student scholarships at Butler through:

The Butler Fund for Student Scholarship

All gifts to the Butler Fund for Student Scholarship go directly to current students in the form of scholarships. Gifts of any size make an immediate and meaningful impact by making the Butler experience possible for today’s students.

Endowed Scholarships

Endow a named scholarship that will exist in perpetuity at Butler, benefitting untold numbers of future Bulldogs. Endowed scholarships can be established through a gift of at least $100,000, payable over five years. Or, donors can establish an endowed scholarship through a planned estate gift.

To learn more about how you can establish an endowed scholarship, contact Dawn Dinwiddie, Senior Director of Campaigns and Strategic Fundraising Initiatives, at ddinwiddie@butler.edu.
