Butler has over 40 intramural and club sports options, so you can choose to play a competitive club sport, including basketball, esports, volleyball, lacrosse, and more. Or if you’re looking for a less competitive and more social option, we have a wide variety of intramural sports to choose from. In addition to club and intramural sports options, you’ll have full membership to our Health and Recreation Complex, easy access to trails and the Pacers Bikeshare, and a beautiful campus to explore on runs and walks.

Health and Recreation Complex (HRC)

The HRC is your one-stop-shop for leading a fit and healthy life. More than just a recreation center, the HRC is a wellness resource for students. It provides counseling and consultation services, group fitness classes, a health clinic, state-of-the-art cardio equipment and weight machines, a six-lane swimming pool, and much more.

Central Canal Towpath

If you’re looking for an idyllic setting to stay active, the towpath trail is the perfect spot. You can run, walk or bike on the five-and-half mile path that runs right through Butler’s campus.

If you’re looking for an activity to participate in with friends, intramural sports may be the thing for you. Choose from a variety of sports and activities, including flag football, table tennis, kickball, volleyball, euchre, and more.

Aquatic Center

Serious and casual swimmers alike will feel at home in the Aquatic Center. Our 25-yard lap pool contains six individual swimming lanes and feeds into a spacious leisure pool. We even have basketball hoops and volleyball nets. The Aquatic Center also offers a hot tub and sauna, perfect for relaxation or sports therapy.
