Admission Support for Undocumented Students

Butler University was founded on the ideals of equity and inclusion and we continue that mission today by creating a community where everyone can thrive. We understand that undocumented students  face unique challenges in their pursuit of higher education. Knowing that, we want to make our admission process as smooth as possible and also provide helpful resources that can aid in the college search.

The Application and Admission Process

For the purposes of admission and financial aid, an international student at Butler is defined as any student who is not a US citizen or permanent resident. This includes applicants that are on a multiple of nonimmigrant visas, asylum and refugee statuses, and individuals who are undocumented or recipients of DACA. Undocumented students may notice that some “international student” requirements will automatically appear on their application checklist.

Note that some application requirements related to applying for an F-1 student visa may be waived for you after a review of your information. This can take a few days, or feel free to contact admission@butler.edu to ask which requirements you will need to fulfill to complete your application.
